The situation of hunger in Haiti has reached unprecedented levels.
Currently, 45% of the population, which translates to 4.97 million people, is experiencing acute hunger and facing difficulties in meeting their basic food needs.
The increase in armed gang violence in recent months has forced many residents to seek refuge in safer places. This has resulted in an estimated 362,000 people being internally displaced. In the last two weeks alone, over 33,000 people have fled the capital city of Haiti.
It is a heartbreaking situation, and the people of Haiti deserve better.
