The classic flower and vegetable market in Bangkok, Pak Klong Talat, is currently undergoing a 400-million-baht renovation and upgrade to become a modern flower market and a tourist attraction.
The market will have a 300-metre walkway facing the Chao Phraya River as a new tourist attraction, similar to Asiatique the Riverfront on Charoenkrung Road. There will be jewellery shops, tailors, and also restaurants and bars. One of the managers at the Pak Kong Talat told me there were plans for some small hotels as well.
I like it the way it is now, but of course some renovations are needed. Unfortunately I think it will be to many tourists, and with that a totally new experience than now.
