New apps for tourists to Thailand and drowning girls

There are a number of new apps out for Thailand and the region.

The Thai Tourist Police has made their own app. Good intentions I guess, but there are some issue to do on that app. But it is is free so download and use it if you like it. More about the app in Bangkok Post.

Another hotel booking app has been released as well. CheckInTonight is a direct competition to HotelQuickly that I wrote recently. I guess that it could be a market for these apps.

Girls drowning in Chao Phraya

A few days ago, Pak Kret police found the bodies of two girls floating near a pier in front of Kredtrakarn Protection and Occupational Development Center in Nonthaburi.

The two girls, aged 14 and 16, reportedly attempted to escape the Center by swimming across the Chao Phraya River. However, thanks to the river’s high waves, the pair was forced under. Details in Thai here with sad picture.
